Veneers are used to improve the appearance of teeth and your smile!
A veneer is a thin shell of tooth coloured material, usually porcelain, which is bonded permanently to the front surface of the tooth. The porcelain gives a very smooth surface that helps to prevent staining and increase the duration of the restoration.
A veneer may be placed on one or more front teeth to improve their colour or to close a large gap between teeth. This procedure is less invasive and more conservative than a full coverage restoration and preserves the natural structure of the tooth.
This procedure is not recommended on teeth with oversized fillings and care should be taken when biting on hard substances such as ice, bones, and hard vegetables that could fracture the veneer. If a veneer becomes chipped or fractured it can be replaced.
